Watchable, but 9.3? Really?

I've always had reservations about how IMDb arrives at its ratings of movie and television content, but this is insane. NOTHING I've ever seen on television rates above 8.5. I find the characters in Plebs annoying and tedious. The comedy is droll and pretentious. Reminds me a bit of how Batman in the 1960's rocketed to such popularity simply by virtue of a national heard mentality that decided it was "hip" or "camp". Personally I though it was crap, and I was only 12 years old when it first aired.
