Signed! IMDB is so stupid trying to get rid of these message boards. They will fail miserably without them and no one will come to their site without the message boards and that includes myself.
shareExactly. I remember a few years back when they suddenly decided that you couldn't participate in the discussions without a cell phone number or a credit card. As you see, that crap didn't last long at all because they lost a lot of their users. Hopefully, they'll have the same outcome with this foolishness and it won't last long either.

shareThe petition is gone. It sucks that we will no longer be able to chat. I would much rather read comments and leave comments on the IMDB over he facebook page. The people on the HAHN FB page are so rude with comments and people pick arguments if you dont ageee with them and most people seem to not know a lot about the history of the show. This was so much better to be able to chat about the show with other loyal viewers. Gonna miss chatting with you all!
shareY'know, I'll bet the reason they're closing the message boards is because there are many users who post cruel, hurtful comments simply because the content someone posted doesn't suit their tastes. And they're tired of handling "report user" requests. At least they have an "ignore user" feature, so the same person can't continue posting cruel comments to someone over and over again. On another board, I posted something that didn't include profanity or talked about anything crazy, but some user commented that I must have eaten paint chips as a child (implying I was brain damanged). If that were the case, I wouldn't have been able to form complete sentences with few or no grammatical or spelling errors. The person probably thought I was unusual; being unusual and stupidity are two different things. And that wasn't the only time I got a cruel response.
If you know for sure the reason they're closing the message boards, and it's not what I wrote above, let me know.
@Timothy- we are about 10 repeat commenters on this message board that we all just like discussing the show. You're probably right, some whiny baby probably didn't like someones comment and ruined it for all of us.
