looks a Bitt similar to The English Patient

I don't know if anyone agrees this is quite similar to the English Patient on the way of a man remembering a past love while someone reads to him a letter he once wrote.

In the English patient was a whole book that Hanna read to Almasi and Hanna's relationship with kip wasn't that much of a focus of the story but the main idea looks a bit similar
Anyone agrees?

Nope. Sorry.

Yep. Sparks isn't exactly known for being a bastion of originality.

That's true, safe heaven many said was quite similar to sleeping with the enemy so why would be surprised if now he copied The English Patient a little.

reply

That is literally the only similarity between these two books AND authors!

Nothing wrong with Nicholas Sparks (except that he basically writes the same book over and over)...but he is nowhere NEAR the talent of Michael Ondaatje!

This take on it, as fictional as it is, is still more plausible, than the whitewashing of Almassy, who was a Fascist spy, so the only connection is, that Ruth's family escaped the power Almassy had supported.

I live in the Gordius Apartment Complex, my interior designer was M.C. Esher.
