Yes!! I immediately thought of that film too!!

As soon as the kids brought up a Viking funeral, I immediately realized they were ripping off Rocket Gibraltar and it really ruined the movie for me. As good as this film was, Rocket Gibraltar was far superior. Besides, I just hate it when something is such an obvious rip-off if they don't give credit to the original writers. They could have said "Based on a story by..." and been honest, but this just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
