Bit like The Hard Way.

And Stephen Lang was the villian in that too.

The Die Hard Way?

And there was an actor named James Woods in both movies.

Different James Woods though.

And the actor who plays the actor in this movie is no Michael J. Fox. That being said, despite some tonal inconsistencies, and the actor is kind of meh character (a little annoying at times) I actually really enjoyed the movie. The violence is sometimes really brutal and nasty, especially in a few scenes and that doesn't always jive with the silliness involving the actor character. But the action was great, everyone other than the actor was good. Dominic Purcell played his part well. Stephen Lang was a pretty good villain and Vinnie Jones played the main henchman well enough. The movie is far from great and has it's issues, but I had a good time watching. Highly derivative, but enjoyable.

You guys mentioned Die Hard and the Hard Way. I also thought of Assault on Precinct 13 while watching as well.

The obnoxious young actor character in the film was utterly pointless. In "The Hard Way" Michael J Fox's character had a good reason for tagging along with James Woods and that was the main premise of the film, but in this, it just seems like an afterthought that adds very little to the narrative and once the siege begins, the character basically just takes a backseat.
