I've never played any infamous games before

It all depends on what you're looking for in a game. If you're looking for a fun, high-octane blockbuster, then yeah, but if you're looking for something in the ranks of The Last of Us, then maybe not.

I hated the first inFAMOUS, so I must come forth and say that inFAMOUS: Second Son is a vast improvement! And the visuals and framerate are quite incredible given the game's hyperactive style, and furthermore, the writing isn't bad either.

In short, yeah! I would definitely recommend picking this game up; however, I did find the core of the game to be a bit on the short side.

I hadn't played inFamous before either (aside from the demos) but the story stands alone and makes perfect sense. I absolutely love this game - I'm on my second playthrough now. Great fun, awesome powers to play with and it looks great too.
