Would a female lead work in these games?

by work I mean, would it be accepted by the fans and gamers and would the sales be as good if in the next game the main hero was female?.

Would you mind playing as a female lead yourself, or would it put you off?

There's already Tomb Raider.

Plus, it would be great if this was multiplayer or we have the option to play Fetch.

I think it'd be fine.
It would be an interesting change of pace.

Totally - a female lead worked fine in Assassins Creed and I don't see why it wouldn't work here too if the character was good. I'd hope for better voicework than the recent Tomb Raider game though, being utterly honest.

You obviously didn't like Lara's VA?, I thought it was pretty good. I don't mind female leads at all, so I'd be up for it. maybe not a drug addict but a cool female character could be decent.

No I really didn't - I know they were going for young and a little vulnerable with it being a prequel, but for me it just came off as a little over-dramatic and gaspy/whiny. Just a matter of preference I guess... and an awesome game otherwise.

It could work and as a huge inFamous fan, I would welcome it. Male lead, female lead, it doesn't matter to me as long as the story and, most importantly gameplay, are good.

Sony announced a DLC at E3 where you get to play as Fetch (Abigail Walker) before the start of Second Son.
