Sweet coming of age movie...

Two boys in love since they were 6, one is leaving home for college. No over sex, just some cuddling, intertwined bare feet & chests (& a backside or two) and you get more heat than some of these soft core attemps. Listen for the placement and relevance off Schumann's "Traumerei" played by the smart kid art strategic moments. P.S. I feel in love with Luke and go after him if I were a kid.

A lovely movie.

The extended scene showing just their tennis shoes was so effective.

Sorry, didn't like it all.

I agree. It was a slow, pretentious waste of time.

Sister, when I've raised hell, you'll know it!

I'm one of those guys who often gets bored and impatient with movies but I managed to sit through most of this and I didn't dislike this honestly. The intimacy, the background of these characters, the characters themselves, they were all depicted quite well.

There are some really beautiful moments, but I just wanted more. I really didn't know the characters well enough and that was disappointing. But, overall it was a sweet movie.

This is a lovely film. I usually don't enjoy slow-paced films, but the pacing in this one does work for me. It is aided by the choice of pieces for the score. The Schumann pieces fit the visuals well, and the title of the pieces, "Scenes from Childhood", also works with the boys saying farewell to that childhood institution, school. Also was pleased with the use of the slow movement of the Beethoven 5th piano concerto. And the acting and cinematography were excellent. I would recommend this film to my straight friends.
