How selfish can you be?

He's persona non grata in the mountain climbing community. He heard the radio transmissions and refused to help. The black South African female climber he brought with them during the tragedy was just for window dressing. He had no intention of letting her climb and didn't even bother getting her a permit. She almost got arrested when she showed up in Nepal because she had no permit. ALL the sponsors he had funding his expedition left because he was a complete a**hole to them and actually threatened one of them. He's a real piece of work. The white female climber he brought with him was not only the one he let climb, he also married her. Her name is Cathy O'Dowd.

Haha I don't know which S Africans you know, but all but one that I know personally are amazing people. They aren't as laid back or chill as kiwis, but look at where they are coming from. Of course they're gonna have a bit more of an opinion about things. I know the later generations are super kind-hearted people for the most part. It's the older generations that I think may be the issue, as the one S African I didn't care for (who was, indeed, a prick) was in his 50's. Who knows though.

Parisians, on the other hand...lol.

The South African's though idiots, summitted around two weeks after the trageddy. They practically waited for the other teams to put up the lines. However they left one of their own for dead. One of their own team members, Bruce Herrod, was ascending late, and they encountered him on their way down. They let him ascend late and he died.

reply

Yes. The first thing they showed of the South Africans depicted them as having left rubbish strewn on the ground at the base camp and I think that was to set the tone for what was to come.

What would you expect from africans
