Can you withdraw EUROS in Indonesia?

I hated the movie, but I'm curious can you withdraw EUROS in Indonesia? Also could you withdraw 5000 at once?

I think not, but there is a possibility I'm wrong. :P

The world's second most traded currency at the airport of one of the world's biggest cities? What's so implausible?

No, see, it gives them attitude. A player negotiates too hard and you never hear from him again, 'cause these guys kill everything!

Beside the 5000 euro withdrawal, what the hell happened with exchange rate? 73 million dollars worth around 65-69 million euros, not 46 million. OK, the exchange fluctuated during last couple of years, but I don`t think it was that low. And in my country, if I withdraw money from another bank`s ATM, it doesn`t show how much money I have in my account.

I've pointed that out before, plus the fact that his bank account was in SFr.

To be honest, I don't have a whole lot of experience with ATMs at airports, but never ever had any ATM around the world offered me to withdraw anything else than the local currency. However, there seem to be ATMs with more than one currency, at least that's what the Interwebs says.

So, while it is indeed possible that this particular ATM actually allows him to withdraw euros, it is very unlikely he could have withdrawn 5000 euros at once, on a single day.

Agreed and the single most realistic post on this thread so far. I chuckled when I saw that scene ... as if.🐭

You cannot. The Jakarta airport, though busy, is a veritable backwater. No way will you withdraw anything but Rupiah from an ATM there.

Im in canada and we can get Euro and Us $ at some ATM's but heres a 500$ limit on them i seem to recall this started 4-5 years ago

Wrong!
At Jakarta International Arrivals & Departures it is possible to withdraw Euros, U$D and $GD in large amounts.
Also at several upmarket malls downtown.
