They always cancel the shows I like. Did anyone ever watch Trauma? I LOVED that show & they cancelled that too. Maybe I shouldn't try to watch TV anymore.

Maybe you shouldn't.

ABC sucks I loved this show. Why not give it a chance to find a audience?

The networks hyper-ventilate if they don't get at least 15 million 18 - 49 year old viewers immediately (no-one else counts). Imagine Breaking Bad on ABC. I was one of the few 1 1/5 million who watched that in the beginning and all the way thru. It would have been kicked off the network in 2 episodes. Old shows like MASH and All in the Family took several years to build an audience, but shows no longer get a chance to prove themselves. Perhaps we, the viewers (no matter our age), are getting wise and not even bothering to watch any new shows they put on. Why bother to get hooked on a show and they rip it off... I now must sniff and turn my nose up to all their new "offerings"...

You answered your own question though, bringing up AMC. The "big" 4 networks have a lot more competition now, much, much more, than they ever had when Hawkeye and Archie were the kings of tv.

And costs have sky-rocketed across the board. Cable, the internet of course, iPads and smart phones, and I read somewhere that the target demo now spends more time playing video games than actually watching something. GTAV right? So network primetime shows have to prove themselves fast or they're gone, it's the nature of things.

It's really sad that this is happening. My kids are playing more video games now days than watch TV. But what about us 40 somethings that like to watch an occasional show here and there.
