If you are a religious jew,you wouldn't eat pork - but most of us aren't very religious, so pork isn't an issue.
shareApparently, religion isn't an issue with anybody anymore, which is unfortunate. But, this series, makes it a point, of letting the audience know that this family is Jewish, so their religion must be important to them, so that means they should honor their laws.
