Alternate Ending

I recorded the alternate ending episode, but it was only shown in the last minute of the episode and my DVR cut it off.

Here's what I saw. The family dressed as superheroes is in the park and Super President Kickbutt announces they will be Hiddenville's new protectors, no longer having to live in secret. Billy and Nora ask if that means they won't have to live a double life anymore, pretty much quoting all the words to theme song. Hank says they watch way too much TV.

Super President Kickbutt then announces Max as a new superhero and Phoebe and Max as "Thunder Twins" to which Phoebe and Max look at each other. Then... my DVR cut off. So what happened next?

I predict a "Thunder Twins powers, activate!" joke coming in Season 4...

they disagree with the name then get into an argument about who would be whose sidekick which drones out/turns to noise (implying they will still be having disagreements typical competitive sibling trope) and then it says "the thunderman adventures continue" so you basically didn't miss anything

overall a waste of my time to record and watch i thought they would change the ending of the episode (aka make max a villain or make the thundermans lose) not change the outro in a non-significant way based on if the series was renewed

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I thought the "alternate" ending would be that either a) Max becomes a supervillain, but is defeated by Phoebe and the family or b) when the families switch powers, there would be a different switch.

The alternate ending was more like a deleted scene. We'll have to wait til season 4 premieres (the episode this Saturday is a Halloween episode and was not intended as the season premiere), but I wonder if they'll still be living a double life.

If the alternate ending was supposed to a true ending if the show was cancelled, it prolly would have said "The End" if it was the series finale.

they said before it that it was supposed to be the series finale ending if the show was cancelled not sure why it said story continues tbh

I agree that was a waste. I also was expecting something different like Max turning evil and taking Phoebe's powers or them somehow flashback into time and not have them exposed.

From the previews for the next episode ("Thundermans: Banished"), I can see why they deleted the scene. The next episode has Super President Kickbutt ordering the Thundermans to leave Hiddenville and never return while the alternate ending had them permanently settled in town as the city's protectors.

I did not know any of that. Thanks for the reply and the information. Banishing them is quite harsh though.
