The Thundermans Is So Underrated

The Thundermans is often underrated because some people like to give the whole "we've seen a family with secret superpowers before" or "superpowers are not realistic" excuse. Those who hate it for that are people who aren't familiar with the scifi/fantasy genre and don't understand much about fiction or premises. So, ignore them.

While most Nickelodeon and Disney shows (like Henry Danger) go for cheap random childish jokes, Thundermans goes for more mature smart ones... which are even more fun if you understand the characters and the context.

This show also has some of the best character and plot development throughout multiple episodes in the series. Forget the big storylines like Phoebe and Max's superhero journey... even small things like the Animalizer story and many either continuity and callback moments. The show is great when it comes to consistency, something that a lot of Nick/Disney shows lack.

Watching just random episodes may not be convincing enough but once you watch multiple episodes, you start making a lot of connections and realize how well written the show is.

The Thundermans honestly deserves way more recognition than it gets now.

Agreed. Seasons 3 and 4 have been really great in terms of really getting into the hero side of things, something that the first two seasons were kind of lacking in.

I'd go as far to say as this is pretty much what we'd get with a live action Incredibles series.

I think in season 1, they wanted to focus more on the "secret" part instead of the "superhero" part but with time they found their strength.

Whether intentionally or not, the show ended up playing a lot like most big network scifi dramas where the show begins with a more focus on event-of-the-week episodes but gets more serialized as the seasons goes by.
