Hard for me to understand sometimes

Was it just me that sometimes had a hard time understanding people speaking? Especially the French policewoman. (forgot to look up names before posting this) The worse was when she was driving her car and speaking. The noise of the car almost drown out her voice. It seemed as if I backed up the show almost as often as I had it going forward. I didn't understand what the policewoman said at the end about Adam so that is the reason I'm here to find out.

That said I still enjoyed the show, and the acting was really good. The part at the end what Karl kept asking if his son was alive was so well acting. Definitely not your typical murder show.

I got the DVDs a while ago, and I keep the subtitles on. You might consider getting the DVDs if you liked it -- it's well worth re-watching, because the plot is so complex, and the relationship between Elise and Karl is so unique and they are such great actors.

I got Season 2 as well; it's good too.

The only catch re: the DVDs is that you have to be able to play Region 2 DVDs.

In terms of what Elise said about Adam in the end, here is the transcript I found online:

ELISE We found Adam.
TT - She's lying.
ELISE He was in an old Peloton property. Fabien Vincent told me where it was.
KARL - Is he alright?
ELISE Yes.
TT He's gone, Karl. You've lost him forever.
ELISE We found him.
KARL - And he's alright?
ELISE - Yes.
TT Where is he, then?
ELISE He's in the hospital, but he's going to be okay.
TT Tell her to call him.
ELISE I don't need to.
KARL - Is he alright?
ELISE - Yes.
KARL Is he alright?
TT There was enough morphine in his body to collapse his respiratory system, several times over.
ELISE He survived that.
KARL Are you saying that because it's true, or because it's what I want to hear? - Is my son alive, Elise?
ELISE - Yes.
KARL Is my son alive, Elise?
ELISE Yes.
KARL Is my son alive, Elise? Is my son alive, Elise?!
ELISE Karl, Karl, give me the gun. Don't shoot him. - Step away! - They'll shoot you.
KARL On your *beep* knees! Why should he live?
TT - Do you believe in the sanctity of life, Karl?
KARL - Shut up!
TT Because if you don't, it makes no sense to keep alive the man who took your son away.
ELISE Karl. Karl! This is the same thing he's always done. It's the same tricks he's always using. That's no truth, it's just cheap logic.
TT Right, now you really do have to choose, don't you Karl? No running away with your tail between your legs close your eyes, say it's none of your responsibility.
KARL - That's not how it was.
ELISE - Karl!
TT Still a *beep* coward.
ELISE Karl He wants you to kill him.
ELISE Don't give him what he wants.
SNIPER (on balcony) Your order, Ma'am?
POLICE (on balcony) Andrea don't do it.
ELISE Be smarter than him. Don't give him what he wants. Don't give him what he wants! Karl!
KARL Argh! Argh! No! Argh! Gaa! Argh! Where's Adam?
ELISE - He's in the hospital.
KARL - Argh!
ELISE He won't have suffered at all.

Oh angelofvic how nice of you to copy and paste this. At first I thought you had typed it all. LOL Of course I wanted Adam to be all right, but not to be. Really good acting on Karl and Elise's parts. Liked Elise's face when they were hugging at the end. She was trying to be a good sympathic person. Thanks for answering my post.

You're welcome. It was easier to copy & paste than to figure out exactly what part you were asking about. I did add in the character names because they are not in the transcript.

Yeah, are you talking about the hug when she visits Karl at his home? That is a real tear-jerker moment, because it echoed the first time Karl tried to hug her and she was like, no.

There's more about Adam's loss in S2, and more development of the K&E friendship, which is nice.

The acting and story is wonderful in both seasons. It's my favorite of Stephen Dillane's.
