Good bird representation

As a bird lover I was delighted to see a budgie (parakeet) in the movie. I chose to watch the DVD of the Secret Life of Pets just for Sweetpea. It was a shame though that they didn't give Sweetpea any lines to say. He just cheeped.

My favorite character was Tiberius the Red tailed hawk. Albert Brooks was a delight as Tiberius, and I was tickled to see that his owner turned to be a tiny old man who loved cuddling with him. I've read about red tail hawks roosting and breeding on skyscrapers near Central Park- it was nice to see one being kept as a pet on the roof of a Manhattan building. Just wish the movie included more birda as well, besides Sweetpea, Tiberius and the birds in the crowd sequences set in the sewer.
