The story of the Franklin expedition is fascinating enough by itself, there was no need for a stupid monster stalking the crew.

This is like if they added an alien subplot to the movie about the Thai football Team stuck in a cave.

Meh. I have better things to do with my time then to follow a program in the hopes for a payoff. I think most people on this site have been down that road before and rarely is the time put into this kind of pursuit worth it.

Care to explain what the answer is? I just watched it and i'm a bit unsure myself as to why they needed the spooky bear. I'm obviously too lazy to read the wiki so if you're not gonna bother answering me, that's fair.

I agree with this. A couple ferocious polar bears would have been fine, but not one that is invulnerable and so fast that no one ever sees it until after it slices someone, there is nothing like that in Canada at all.
