Not quite the production of Hatfield + McCoys

I had high hopes for this little two part mini series and unfortunately the measuring stick would be last years History Channel event Hatfield & McCoys starring and directed by Kevin Costner...
The History Channel Kevin Costner collaboration gave Hatfield & McCoys a big screen feel...not that this version of Bonnie & Clyde was poorly done ..
It was entertaining
But it screamed TV movie
I guess it was what it was
Maybe I expected a little too much

reply

Yeah I saw that too. Hatfields and McCoys was pretty good.

reply

Yeah, I was thinking it would be more like Hatfields & McCoys was, too. That story really seemed to follow everything I'd ever read or heard about that feud, while Bonnie & Clyde took way too many liberties. It was like it was made for (and not just shown on) Lifetime rather than the History Channel.

reply

It did air on lifetime actually.. a&e, history and lifetime

reply

I think that's the point kmc is trying to make - yes, it aired on all three stations, but it had the feel of a Lifetime movie, instead of leaning more toward an A&E movie, like Hatfields and McCoys. They used a lot of made-up drama instead of using the drama that was already built in to the history.

We are all in agreement here I had high hopes for it as well coming off of History's channel "Hatfield & McCoy"s. But it really sucked in so many ways, I'm surprised that History and A&E would have their name to such a second rate production. I don't see how the network exes and any screenings of this went that well! I don't mean this in a male chauvinist way but I could see Lifetime doing a production like this. All I mean is they make a lot of D rate productions and this film defiantly seems to be more from Bonnie's view and makes her the antagonist!

reply

The H&M production was superior to this 1) because it was aimed at an older audience and not mostly young stupid females and 2) because anything would be superior to this crap.

If you put me on ignore, then how can I notify you when I win the lottery?

reply

Exactly! Thanks for getting my point.

reply

ohhhhh thats right its not an actual History Channel film... ok makes sense now..Lifetime movies are generally awful so this would be a step up for them all jokes aside...they are probably celebrating in the Lifetime corporate office and someone at History Channel is getting his ass chewed for attaching there name to this project..
