Is Part Two any Better than Part One?

Sitting here on the West Coast wondering if part two picks up a little speed? I watched part one last night, and was really disappointed. It was really pretty slow and boring. I so want to like this movie, though, because I've waited so long to see it...

The previews of part two look like it might be a little more exciting, and just wanted to get some opinions from the East Coast.

Thanks!

The second part is better. And, William Hurt is getting to be pretty bad ass, which I find cool!

Oh good, thank you!

Yes part 2 was much better.

William Hurt is always good.

Part two is where they have the gun battles, very historically inaccurate I will add. I wanted to see the Joplin shootout where Bonnie comes outs lugging a BAR and shooting it like a Marine.

Neither B&C nor Frank Hamer's men used the Thompson submachine gun. Both used the BAR. While you do see a few BARs being used, the Thompson gets most screen time.

The 2nd part is much better than the first. While the historical facts are distorted too much, at least part 2 is nowhere near as boring, features some half-decent gunplay, and is totally devoid of tasteless gay prison rape. Part One: 4/10, Part Two: 6/10.

I didn't find part 1 "boring" at all; that was where the characters were introduced, and where the viewer gets to know them. character development is never a waste of time. Usually people complain when movies rush over facts and leave stuff out. It was nice to see a movie, especially a tv movie, take it's time. i thought this was an impressive production. Anyway, this isn't two 90 minute films; it's one 3 hour film, so you can't rate the first half and second half differently, as if they are 2 different movies. That makes no sense.

And this is exactly the reason why I preferred the first part shown on Sunday, because I enjoyed the character development and interaction of the couple. I thought the two had great chemistry. The second part showed their downfall and how difficult it was for them, it was pretty somber for me.

Just more of the same inaccurate, anachronism filled garbage - they even f..cked up the gun battles with 85 pound Bonnie blazing away with B.A.R.'s and with the lawmen using Thompson's during the fatal ambush. Watch some good documentaries on Bonny and Clyde, way more entertaining and they make a genuine effort to be historically accurate.

I'm with you jdmasters, I thought this was plain awful. Sometimes I think Lifetime (I actually saw the simulcast on The History Channel)caters to women with lower than average intelligence. The breakaways to commercials with characters taking turns saying 3 semi-dramatic words was cheesy. I didn't find much of it accurate and sadly I didn't find Bonnie or Clyde appealing. Obviously they were appealing they had the nation captivated. Until Lifetime's target audience is smart enough to demand better this is the quality lacking BS they should expect, and the reason I don't ever have Lifetime on.

Based on what, exactly? This post makes YOU look dumb.

reply

Based on emotional responses from women who need to function in reality rather than believe Lifetime is "real life".

reply

That's just a ridiculous assumption.

reply

Ha Ha I assume you resemble my remarks. I certainly mean no disrespect, I just wish women would demand a better quality of entertainment. To each there own. Maybe functioning in a fantasy world just makes reality more livable. In any case, have a great day.

Well, you know what happens when you assume.

To each there own
You mean, to each THEIR own? You're not so smart yourself, are you?

Maybe functioning in a fantasy world just makes reality more livable.
If someone watches Lifetime, that means they confuse the programming with reality? In what "reality" does that even make sense? You seem to be reaching.

reply

True that! Thanks so much for helping me out with that one, note to self- utilize reading glasses when proof reading. Anything else you need to do to sooth that absurdly bruised ego? Move along, this show is over ;)

reply

Poor vision? That's your excuse? LOL ! You slay me.

Additionally, in order for my ego to be bruised, you assessment would have to be correct, which it isn't, informed, which it isn't, and logical, which it isn't. Keep considering yourself superior though, it makes you look great :)

To be honest, this whole thing sucks, it's a story that, like Batman, doesn't need to be told 5 more times, but yes, William Hurt becomes major in part 2, and really ups the quality.

reply

I really enjoyed part two, lots of action and the story moves along at a brisk pace. Part one was rather boring.
