'Introducing' Holliday Grainger ??

She's been a working and active actress for many years. Why are they advertising this as "Introducing" Holliday Granger??

reply

I know right? I was almost screaming at the screen when I saw that. She's been in the Borgias for 3 years!!!!!!!!!!!!

reply

Because she is an British actress an this is broadcasting in America.

reply

There are hundreds of British actresses that show up on shows broadcast in the states, including The Borgias on which she appeared.

Lol - I just saw the trailer and came here to make an identical post! Holliday Grainger has 44 credits on IMDb; a rather impressive number for her age. Impressive in content as well; she's been in some amazing projects. I wonder how she feels about being "introduced."

this is her first debut on a large scale in a lead role that will be watched by millions. people know who emile is but not holliday

reply

That was my reaction. I was going, "Who is Holliday Grainger?" I had never heard of her, but it sounds like she's much better known across the pond.

reply

Yeah, before this, Grainger was largely unknown in the US. Sure, she had The Borgias, but that wasn't particularly popular stateside. Not like Games of Thrones, which has a huge following, numerous accolades, and just finished its sixth season and has been renewed for an additional two. The Borgias only had three seasons, and nobody noticed when it ended three years ago. Sure, shed had bit parts in other projects, mainly British fare, but this television event that aired on 3 different networks, simultaneously, was to be Grainger's official introduction to the US. Hence, "Introducing..." In the UK, Grainger's name was top-billed in print ads and listed first on TV spots.

reply

Actually, Introducing is her first name.
