Escobar is the only...

Escobar is the only good thing about this series...

The first season was watchable... Inwatched the second at my friends' insistance... and now, having watched the first eposide of the third season I can safely say that this is one of the most overrated series of the past few years...

C'mon... your average crime movie is so much better, visually, emotionally and just generally as something to watch...

Narcos is not compelling...

I disagree. I think It's one of the best shows ever created and it's up there with the best crime movies. But I've always been very fascinated by these drug cartel stories.

I do agree that Pablo is the best part about it. Season three wasn't as good because he's gone. It's still better than most shows around but not on the same level as s1 and 2.

i suppose it is better than most crime series, i guess i prefer the movie format...

Someone should try to make a proper Escobar movie... there are a few documentaries around, but the story is worth showing on the big screen

I think they told his story in Narcos as good as they could. Even If they took a lot of liberties.

But sure there is enough stuff about Escobar that in the right hands it would make a great movie.

There's actually another recent series about Escobar that people seem to like but I could not get in to it.

Its great imo
Pedro Pascals performance is worth your time if nothing else
He is great

reply

Yeah Pedro Pascal is great. I actually liked Boyd Holbrook too. I don't know why so many people seemed to hate him. I thought they worked well together. I wish he would have been is season 3.

reply

I liked him
The dislike may have been aimed at his voiceover / narration which isnt his fault but seemed to annoy people

I think they did a pretty good job with Escobar - he was the main focus for 2 seasons. The third season does a pretty good job by focusing on the Cali chief of security -
There's no denying though that the Brazillian actor playing Escobar was by far the better actor. Furthermore - I feel like the chief of security dude's story felt a bit off - you don't get to become the chief of security of a narco family without doing some, or, most likely, plenty of killing. I know that the third season was based on his story, and I totally get why he said to the dea that he was absolutely innocent of all crimes, but based on how narcos operated, it all smelled like bullshit.
