Why didn't Pablo just quit?

Assuming he and his family would be comfortable for the rest of their lives, why didn't he just flee to another country and get another identity for himself and his fam?

reply

Greed.

That's what I was thinking as well. Also, he'd probably miss the thrill of being in charge. I'd rather take life over greed though. How is that not a more sensible choice?

I think there was a moment in Season 1 where he suggested moving to Switzerland and starting fresh. It was his wife Tata who told him that they would be nobodies in Switzerland, and Colombia is the place where they belong. Poor and selfish decision on Tata's part.

Now that you mention it, that does sound a bit familiar. But then again by that time Pablo didn't have the "wanted" status like in season 2. Don't forget, in season 2 he also made some powerful enemies in the cocaine business as well, not just in the government.

Nevertheless, they still could have gotten out when the *beep* really hit the fan... So my question is still valid.

Not so much greed but Power. Power drives everything for these guys. If he fled he wouldn't have power anymore.

Yeah so what if he lost his power THERE. As long as one is alive, it's possible to acquire power pretty much everywhere if one knows what they're doing. Of course it's also a question of politics (knowing the right people to acquire the power), but when you're dead, that's it. No power at all LOL

reply

He shouldn't have declared war on the government.Thst was his end.

reply

This is based on true events. Unfortunately, Pablo was killed instead of captured so we will never know what was driving him to continue.

reply

because those guys are addicts and their drug is power, they always want more and no matter how much they get it is never enough.

reply

He was a narcissist, plain and simple.
