The ending of season 2 seemed to indicate that Pena was going to feature in Season 3 as the focus switched to the Cali Cartel. However the real Javier Pena has said that he wasn't involved in any operations against the Cali Cartel.
So does anyone know if the scene at the end of season 2 was just a bit of a red herring and Pascal's involvement with the show is over or do the writers plan to twist things so we get to see Pena again?
According to this article, he will be returning. Boyd Holbrook returning has not yet been confirmed though.

In addition, the Narcos Netflix and Twitter pages announced that season 3 of Narcos had begun filming by posting a picture of Javier Pena.

The show has dramatized history before so I'm glad it seems like they'll be willing to do it again to keep Pena around. He's a great character and Pascal is wonderful on the show.
Thank's for the info pleased Pedro is coming back, I agree he was excellent in the first 2 seasons especially season 2.
