Nothing like black knight (Martin Lawrence)

I just started watching this show and I've always liked stories of people with average intelligence going back into the past because they usually are filled with fun shenanigans. Martin Lawrence character in black knight was able to use his modern day knowledge to create all types of inventions (bikes, roller blades, jazz music lol). But Jason seems to blend in perfectly with these people (he even talks and sounds exactly like them). It's as if he's not even from the future. Does this change in later episodes? So far he doesn't even tell his historically famous friends about who he thinks they are.
