Ariadne or Medea?

Props to Jason for taking a walk on the wild side with Medea.

Now that he's headed to Colchis...I believe that the dilemma (Ariadne v Medea) is reawakened.

As Jason, who would you prefer?

Well we know the story he plays Medea dirty and leaves her high and dry after all she did to help him get the golden fleece. In Mythology Jason has a sad ending, Medea kills their sons, and kills his bride and then high tails it out of there. He is left alone and lonely and dies after the hull of the Argo falls on him.

But for the show as much as Medea tempts him his one true love is Ariadne he would of returned to Atlantis with her and left Medea behind and broken hearted.

I meant more in the TV series. It seems, that Ariadne is more or less Jason's ideal sense of love, beauty and sense of worth. However, it seems Medea (at least as portrayed here) is more truly like him--touched by the Gods. I felt there was more attraction and chemistry between Medea and Jason than Jason and Ariadne, esp in Season 2.

Had the series gone on, it would have been great to get a retelling of a sympathetic backstory, where Medea's upbringing by Pasiphae would have shown her inner nature being corrupted by Pasiphae's own darkness.

way more chemistry with medea. and as jason has said before, it's not too late for her - there's good in her. and she's seen what turning to the dark side can do to a person.

ariadne is no longer purely good, if she ever was. her father was a terrible king and usurper, who married pasiphae long after she'd turned to the dark side - yet ariadne looks back on her father in an idyllic, unrealistic light. in this way, she is as low-level intelligence and lacks self-awareness as much or more than jason. plus, she had already betrayed jason so many times. choosing telemon over jason (lessons from her father) and more.

point being, it's not as though medea is an angel of lucifer and ariadne of g-d in heaven. both are shades of gray. and if we are not going to have pure loyal love, goodness and righteousness, then let's at least have passion. and incest. way better story.

How about both? We already know in the myth that he's not really a hero and we've also seen his dark side on the show.
