*Spoiler alert* Re: Post titles sequence

Hi there,

During the post-credits 'Denzel' sequence, was there any significance to this scene - apart from the fact that this time - she *doesn't* stop him from introducing himself?

Were we supposed to recognise the woman? (I'm a tad face-blind).

reply

I did not stay for the credits. Can you describe the scene?

reply

Do you recall the flashback scene when they're at the mansion retrieving the Fabregé egg and his wife finally recalls the time she met Denzel Washington?

The post-credits scene starts out the exact same way, but this time when he starts to say who he is, the woman he meets doesn't cut him off, so he gets a chance to say who he is. The scene ends with a close-up of the woman's face, which leads me to suspect there is some significance to it that I missed, but I could be mistaken.

reply

Sounds like I'll have to see it to offer an opinion. It definitely wasn't the wife again, but a new woman?

reply

The woman is clearly the ex-wife of the creepy cop-neighbor (played by Jesse Plemons.) We see her photographs in the shrine he built for her. This is the only time we see her in the film.

As in Marvel movies, while there is a scene during the credits, this is actually shown after 100% of the credits are done. I'm glad I waited for it. It was a good gag. The cop was still obsessed with her, and now she could be on her way to a one-night-stand.

reply

It emphasizes the fact that while the cop husband is still obsessed with his ex wife, the wife has moved on and is comfortable with getting to know new people.

reply

Yea, but I wonder why they have to include that... kinda irrelevant to the movie.

reply

that's Gary ex-wife eheh
