Pylon (Contains spoilers)

In the new episode 'Pylon', Morse finds the suitcase with the evidence that proves Thursday was right about the 1952 murder case. Yet at the end of the episode he hides it back in the church where he found it - why? Surely it would be safer to destroy it or bury it, as one day it could be found, eg if the organ was being repaired.

reply

Yes, or if other kids want to hide cigarettes there. But if he destroyed or buried it that would be worse behavior with respect to evidence.

Here he is just pretending that he had never found it.

Looks like in this episode they continue to have trouble getting the band back together.

A bigger question to us, why was Morse so cold to the Thursday daughter?

reply

"why was Morse so cold to the Thursday daughter." Yeah, it feels like something was cut. There was that vague flashback where she says, "I can't keep doing this" which indicates that something happened or further words were exchanged after Morse asked about coffee in the previous episode.

I really enjoy this show but there are some mighty annoying plot holes.

reply

You're right; so many things left unexplained.

I guess it's been three years in show time since season 5? So maybe something happened that we are yet to discover?

Or it's just that he doesn't want to get attached because he has to work with Thursday?

Or was it another one of those notorious cuts that happen between the British and American versions?

reply

I agree that putting the suitcase back allows the assumption that it was never found.
