Enjoying the new 2018 season
Anyone following this great show? How do you feel about the newest episodes so far?
I'm enjoying them. It's [spoiler]agonizing to see the Joan Thursday scenes[/spoiler] though, so many missed moments.
I am loving the new season, as well. I have to disagree with your hidden info. I like the interaction. I wish Morse would just "take the bull by the horn" so to speak!
Don't you think Morse is getting a bit cocky and emboldened this season?

The scenes with the interactions with Joan are indeed great, but what I find "agonizing" is indeed the fact that he never just goes for it with Joan! Come on Morse, she wants you, you want her, and yet..... aaagh! Lol!
Oh for damn sure!! They both love each other, she tests him all the time, but he falls short! Instead, he has these brief and intense pick up sex partners!! LOL!
He is delightful, intelligent, attractive, loyal, a consummate professional but must display a fierce moroseness that "turns off" any one with a bit of a thought to make a relationship work.
Alas, it is not to be, that he winds up with a true love for life. Sad, morose, dejected older Morse embittered by Life, finds love a bit too late.😢
Agh, yes, all the brief, intense pick-up sex partners instead of being bold enough to just declare himself to the woman he actually loves!
Talk about a classic case of self-sabotage!
It's funny how, even though we know from the original older-Morse show that a solid relationship was never to be, none the less when I watch Endeavour I keep doing "magical thinking" in wishing he found love and happiness as that young man! Illogical but ugh it's so sad to watch him blowing his chances.
I always have the exact thoughts! "Maybe it will work this time, Maybe this time he will tell her, Maybe Thursday will prod him!!" I often think, re- that last one, does Fred realize the unspoken feelings between Joan and Endeavor? If he does, he fails to convey that. And if he does, is there a reason Fred hesitates? Does he think Morse is not the right guy for Joan? Mrs Thursday gets it , I think, given her anger at Endeavor for not 'finding' Joan when she left.
It's terribly frustrating.
Despite it all, I am really enjoying this season, though ,sorry to see it almost coming to an end. I'm not one to re-watch shows , usually, but maybe I will re-watch the original Morse series. What's old is new again, I suppose.
