Am I the only one puzzled by the fact that Fred and Win seem to have forgotten they have a son? I don't recall hearing his name mentioned since he left to join the Army. Anyone know why he's no longer talked about?

It's one thing that they need not necessarily mention him when worried about Joan. But quite a few times they showed Joan's framed photo in the house like a shrine, but nothing next to it--no Sam in uniform or whatever.
Folks usually have both kids in photo frames together on a table. Or wherever.
Yes, Sam clearly doesn't even get noticed now that he's away!
