I will miss you guys

I come to the message boards to get information on my TV programs, to try to get advice on other TV programs to watch from the people on the boards. They must have something up their sleeve and making room for people to pay for a service.

I will miss the people on the boards. From the ones that vented for no reason to the ones that debated with others without calling names to those that shared information when they got it

Thank you all for the pleasure of your company on lonely holidays, when I was feeling bad, good and indifferent.

I felt I made friends here, albeit anonymous ones, I always felt I would be entertained by people.

Thanks you all again for making my day more often that you know

I can't understand the decision to stop and delete message boards, how on earth does it 'enhance the customer experience on IMDb'? Whenever I'm considering whether to watch a film on TV I go to IMDB and look at the message boards and get the flavour of the posts and their responses; it is much more reliable than subjective user reviews.

My enjoyment of my favourite programmes (Endeavour being my no.1) has definitely been enhanced by reading other people's views (whether I agree with them or not) and little snippets of news and background info.

Like the original title says 'I will miss you guys'.

Thanks to this message board I was able to find the site morseandlewisandendeavour.wordpress.com which has some interesting stuff.

My use of the IMDB site will plummet once the message boards have gone, is that really what they want?

Just noticed there is a petition to keep the message boards going, I've signed it.

I've only recently gotten into the msg boards as part of a broader IMDB experience, and while the occasional troll is unavoidable, they can be muted.

I was learning that there was a wealth of information and smart opinion to help me sort out unclear details of movies. I used it for that just last night for the movie "Demolition".

I'm sad and annoyed. 8-(

The boards will be sadly missed. As has been said already, I really don't understand how the 'user experience' is 'enhanced' by getting rid.

Sure, there was some trolling but that was far outweighed by the often fascinating insights and observations of so many.

A very disappointing decision. Thanks to everyone for, well, everything.

Ditto. Don't know where I will get my info now :(

Indeed. Bad decision by IMDb if you ask me. Community is what makes platforms like this. Strip that community spirit, and trade it for something cold and commercial, and before long IMDb will probably become a shadow of its former self. But that's just my opinion.

Take care all, and thanks for your replies and interesting posts.

It must be possible to start a new platform/forum where we can discuss specific movies/ series. Does anyone know how to do that? Would be fabulous!!!
