is The Affair pulling a John Snow?

I binged the whole season in one day and there was so much foreshadowing for Alison's death and that she "imagines" things. Clearly in eppie 9 the first 1/2 was her fantasy of how she wish things went as her home has no fire place or balcony. The 2nd scene was her fantasy death scene as the refrigerator and walls looked different. Assuming that fantasy extended to the aftermath if she died and how people would react. It's a stretch on that one. I get that.

Ruth was so cagey about leaving the show. "She could not say why". Kit Harrington was adamant John Snow was dead. He left the show and was going to cut his hair. When he didn't the fans suspected he would return and did.

Ruth was the center of the show and faking Alison's death got the show a lot of media buzz heading into the final season. I can't see 10 more episodes sans Alison or Ruth. Unless she pops up as fantasy conversations to Noah and Cole (think Norma Bates) IF her character really was killed off. Just my 2 cents.
