Last night's message

So on the subject of marijuana, here's what we got last night:

Teenager daughter: "It's not my joint." No mention or suggestion that she WOULDN'T have one, just that the one found wasn't hers.

Mother: It's mine. "I've always wanted to try it." Really--there are people in their 30s or beyond who always wanted to try it, but never did? I find that hard to believe.

School Principal: I believe I need to try every stupid thing any of my students do so I know what they are going through.

Dad: I've always been against illegal drugs, but what the heck, a new neighbor says it's cool, so I guess I'll give it a try.

I have never before seen a show that so boldly and openly endorsed the use of marijuana for recreational purposes. There was not even the slightest hint of anything about it being negative. Even the cops smiled and walked away when they saw Mel about to light up.

Can't wait to see what laws they all advocate breaking next week.

It's cool to promote it now. :P Although I think the show was less about endorsing it and more to perhaps just poke fun at it.
