The show has a chance of getting renewed

I know that the ratings are not good but there's still a chance.
The creator of the show posted this on his twitter. https://twitter.com/michaelseitzman

Show has a lotta value. VOD, downloads, streaming, DVR, international. Bubble, yes. Dead, no way.

We won't know until early May, but it's all been very positive.

As Mark Twain said about his favorite TV show, "News of its death is greatly exaggerated." #IntelligenceCBS

Has definitely NOT been cancelled.

Also there is this article: http://www.examiner.com/article/why-cbs-should-renew-intelligence-now?

reply

That's a fair summary: not canceled, on the bubble, has a chance (although a rather low chance due to the 1.3 rating).

The only reason they haven't announced its cancellation yet is because there are still episodes to air. What good would it do? And the showrunner is being optimistic because he's supposed to be, it's part of his job.

To be honest I wouldn't call myself an Intelligence fan. If it wasn't about Josh Holloway, I wouldn't even know that the show exists cause I never watch CBS.

Btw, I didn't say that the show is going to definitely get renewed, I said that it thas a chance.

I've been a fan for almost 6 years.
I don't know if I believe Michael Seitzman but he knows more than we do about the future of the show. If CBS doesn't judge Intelligence only by the live ratings, the show has a chance. May it can be a summer show.

I don't know if you like Josh as an actor but it's kinda sad that he was offered the lead in 12 shows (one of them being Person of Interest) and decided to choose a show that CBS doesn't care about.

Btw, how CBS treated The Good Wife??

reply

The Good Wife is different because it's a critical and awards darling. Of course they kept it around. Intelligence was panned by critics, and their writing is far from awards-worthy. There's no upside to keeping this around.

reply

No offense but I didn't ask you
Besides, there are much worse CBS shows than Intelligence that have get renewed.

reply

shows with worse ratings have been renewed to later become popular hit shows.
intelligence may be renewed.

Just b-cause I ca'nt spell does not mean youre right.

I hope so!

}}} Btw, I didn't say that the show is going to definitely get renewed, I said that it thas a chance.

You're right. There's a chance I'll get to have red hot monkey love with Gisele Bundchen, Alessandra Ambrosio, Adriana Lima, Dree Hemingway, Candice Swanepoel, Anja Rubik, and Doutzen Kroes in the coming week. What the hey -- ANY coming week. EVER.

And that's only a slightly greater chance than the chance that Intelligence gets renewed...

Intelligence had some potential, in that it's got a lot of good, charismatic performers playing good, charismatic characters. Its concept, in the hands of a good writing team, might have gone somewhere.

It got this crop of writers, instead...

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/03/18/cbs-predictions-the-crazy-ones-is-likely-to-be-canceled-2/244575/

Note that the R/C index puts it as the two worst-off shows on CBS -- "certain to be cancelled by May, 2014", not even "more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2014"

This is because even IF the numbers were showing improvement, the show would still be one of the lowest rated shows on CBS, which means that CBS will cancel it just to make room for something else, that might have better ratings... The nets will generally kill the lowest rated shows even if the numbers are "decent", because of the fact that it always has stuff in the pipeline that it just won't sit on. And Intelligence, unlike some other shows, isn't even vaguely close to being syndicated, meaning it has no longer-term value for the network to make if only it gets a few more shows...

And frankly, after the execrable writing of "The Grey Hat", easily the worst episode so far this season on multiple levels, it's not deserving of any more of a chance. There's so many plot AND factual holes in this ep it's pitiful.

I'll watch it to the end, but not because it has a chance or is going to get any better. And I'll save my ire at the networks for killing far, far better shows than this one has ever come close to being.

reply

This show is awesome. They're stupid to kill it.

"I said no camels, that's five camels, can't you count?"

reply

It is very, very unlikely that this show will get renewed. The ratings are just too low for an hour long drama on CBS. I mean the ratings are too low even for other networks but especially for CBS.

reply

I have started watching this show on a regular basis , so it is DOOMED ! :)

I understand. Btw, Intelligence is also an ABC production :)

Thanks for the info. I'm thinking that if CBS doesn't renew the show, maybe ABC can pick it up.

I guess it will probably remain on cbs for now,

reply

Yep.

I took a look at Michael Seitzma's twitter account and he said that he has already started writing the second season.

reply

Owned by Disney to boot.

reply

I really hope it's not cancelled. I love the tech/sci-fi storyline and I'm a big fan of Josh Holloway. I never miss an episode - I like the Gabriel character and the Riley character - not such a big fan of the boss, but whatever. I just hope it is renewed!!!!!

reply

I agree! I'm a big fan too :)
