Flipping the tablet?

I thought if you flipped one of the boxes on the tablet, it didn't work. Wasn't that a rule in one of the movies?

I think it's explained that turning one of the pieces does disrupt the magic that's attached to the tablet. Especially since Ahkmenrah is the holder of the tablet so he can wield it. The reason why no one came to life at the end of the first one is because the guards took the tablet and turned the middle piece so it wasn't straight like the others. When Nick took it back, Larry told him to turn the middle piece to see the magic of the museum and when he did, everything came to life.

However, in this film, all the movement and with Merenkahre (Ahk's father) observing it to see what was wrong with he flipped them to see the problem. I wouldn't think because they were already alive that touching the pieces (especially with it corroding) would disrupt the already disrupted magic. Putting them back straight while in the moonlight allowed the magic to regenerate.

Oh so if you flip it before they come to life, then they stay statues but if they're already alive, they stay that way till sunrise. I think I got it.. Hopefully. Thank you for your explanation!

That's what it seems like to me, I think discussing the true power of the tablet would be a great thing to explore. They need to do a movie with Ahkmenrah alone lol.
