Poseidon Rex was dormant for very long time. However, it was not at least concussed for some time or even killed by barometric pressure of explosive blast. It was so hungry that it ate two divers (food never seen before), but not the third one. Oh, sorry, it gulped both divers, since if they were bitten I guess at least one oxygen tank would explode.
Poseidon Rex attacks boats from deep below. According to its size, I guess from depth of over 35 m. It has to swim up to attack boat. But it always stands on sea floor while attacking boats, and even towers over them.
It runs trough not so shallow sea faster than well powered motor boats can go. Have you ever tried running trough water high as your knees or higher? Resistance and slowdown are tremendous!

Shortest distance Wisconsin - Belize is approx. 2850 km. Combat range of F-16 Block 50 is 550 km. Combat radius of F/A-18 is 537 km... Combat radius of F-15 is up to 1850 km... And shortest distance Florida - Belize is approx. 1160 km... Should I bother to take a look where National Guard airbases in those states REALLY are?
