S01E02 "A Quiet Night In" is...

… the best 30 minutes of television in the history of television.

Yeah it's a great episode, truly unique and inventive. Did you happen to see 'The 12 Days of Christine' episode from series 2? Because it's just as brilliant as 'AQNI' is, though in a completely different way. I'm just hoping for a 3rd series of this show so very badly!

1) "The 12 Days of Christine" reminded me of a Doctor Who episode. Loved it.

2) Icing on an already delicious cake was finding out the "women" in "A Quiet Night In" was actress Oona Chaplin, the granddaughter of Charlie Chaplin. I have to assume that casting wasn't coincidental.

I do believe that both Steve and Reece stated that the actual casting of Chaplin's granddaughter in this role was not at all an intentional factor or decision on their part and simply turned out to be a really great added bonus for this particular episode. A bit hard to believe I know, but nevertheless it's what they claim.

I wish the entire series were in this vein -- darkly funny rather than mildly+sporadically a little amusing plus tinged with revenge or psychological damage or the supernatural ...

So far I've seen only the 1st 3 eps, and I'll watch all eps, but I'm sure I'll continue to be disappointed; s01e02 is an entirely different animal, a gorgeous rarity.
