Another snorefest period drama

Doesn't anyone ever get tired of these damn 1800's period dramas.
The same tired boring slow romance and situations

So, a thought crossed your mind? Must have been a long and lonely journey

What else is there to expect when it's written by an overrated PoS, turned into a screenplay and directed by a woman who learned from the master of slow and boring, Bergman! I'm actually surprised she kept it under three hours long.

I usually like period pieces but five minutes in I got impatient and after skipping through it halfway I couldn't remember the last time I found a film quite this boring. Chastain and Morton didn't impress me with their five minute stares signifying nothing and Farrell looked like a modern person trying to act like someone from 1890 and failing. Nothing about this film worked for me.

reply

It could not be more boring even if it tried, and Collin Farrell seemed so out of place.

No, I *love* sitting down in the evening and relaxing to this kind of film with a snifter of cognac. It's a very restful experience.
