This is a remake of the British movie "Peter's friends" starring Stephen Frye, Hugh Laurie, Kennith Branagh, Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105130/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_74 I prefer Peter's friends, although About Alex was pretty good, too.
