I would have no problem with more black people in movies.

But seriously; how many black guys do you think there actually are in your average college gang of 6-7 white people...?

From the general "outrage" and demands for racial diversity, you'd think there was close to 50% black people in the US. But there's really only about 12%. I'd say 1 black guy in that gang isn't less than realistic, if anything it's more.

IMDb-boards would be less confusing if people would mark their signatures clearly.

True, in movies where they have the one black guy in the group it is kinda unrealistic. I'm half black and born in UK, I grew up in a really white neighbourhood, when I was younger obviously I used to hang around and play with white people. but now im 15 and I basically have 2 groups- one with all my black friends (all male), the other one consists of me just being the only black guy, but there is also a Chinese dude in the group as well (males and females). Anyway im just saying it is quite rare to find a white group with just one black guy, even though i'm in one. People of the same ethnicity just usually hang out together.

Honestly I would guess that they did colorblind casting; the black character has a Jewish last name, so they probably didn't write it specifically for a black person to play. It seems like they just cast whoever was best for the part regardless of race. It's too bad more movies don't do that because then the only obstacle would be some institutionalized racism and less blatant efforts to cast only white people.
