Every show I like gets cancelled

But every stupid *beep* crime drama, all 90,000 clones get renewed over and over or some stupid spin-off pops up. The only show I watch that isn't going to get axed is probably Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

I don't watch a lot of TV. I keep up with maybe 5 shows max. I don't have time to binge-watch 20 shows. I honestly think it got the axe because Marcus had an early voice change and he was "no longer a boy." The writers expected another 2 years before a deep crackly voice occurred.

Most guys don't have that happen at age 12 unless a growth spurt occurs at the same time. It's usually closer to 13 1/2 - 14 with a growth spurt starting first. My voice didn't start changing until after my growth spurt started during 8th grade when I grew 8 inches in about 6 months. I don't remember any friends having voice changes unless they started growing an inch a month.

Honestly I think it would be more interesting if Will kept being the father figure as Marcus becomes obsessed with girls more and more from his puberty. I remember longing for a stepdad as a kid around 13-14. I had one, but he was always gone. I suppose I relate to this show because I wanted a fun, cool stepdad as a kid. :\

 NOPE. It got cancelled because it was a so-so show with so-so ratings.

"Don't you dare Google me!"

Why did Jonathan Taylor Thomas not suffer that same voice change syndrome, from the TV show Tool Time?

reply

He did... but he also started the show at around a late 9/10, so that gave him leverage and he actually played his age (BTW: it's Home Improvement... Tim's show within a show was 'Tool Time').

Marcus (or Benjamin) was around 13 when the show first started, but was playing 11... so naturally at 14, you couldn't keep him young forever... even though he was just turning 12 on the show on the 2nd season.

However, yea... it was due to a really poor placement at Tuesdays 9:30, with no real lead-in. It only benefited last year from The Voice.

I had no idea about the show until I saw it on Netflix, where I just watched season one, and loved it. So then I come here and find out it's been axed. So frustrating! It'd be awesome if Netflix would pick it up.

Man I really hope they release the other episodes or Netflix picks it up or something. This was one of the few shows I really liked :/

I feel the OP's pain. I never watched it during its airtime. We always recorded it. I only watch a handful of TV shows, and two of my favorites have been canceled, this being one of them. Really sucks. Especially when I see stupid reality shows being renewed for their umpteenth seasons.

I feel your pain. Really? Why do they cancel all the good ones? Ugh.
