LAST EPISODES...

I just saw the last 6 episodes of about a boy and before watching this I got really annoyed about how this show can be cancelled. I mean on IMDb very espiode has a rating of 6.5+ and its 2015 people watch this show via apps like Netflix, showbox, cartoon HD, Hulu, TV websites and asome of tbe ratings from these don't add up. This was one of my faviourite shows and I'm so angry NBC decided to end it after two seasons.

I watched S2E20 and it was so amazing! That is the best way to end a season. Will and Fiona are finally realizing that they should be together and now I will never ever find out what happens next thanks to NBC. I need to find out what happens with Will and Fiona's relationship because the kisd didn't just mean nothing, they are finding out whether they should be a couple or whatever. And I need to just follow up on Marcus's life cos its always interested to watch.

I don't think much people like m will watch similar shows again especially on NBC as it probably will get cancelles after one/two seasons. If I was in control about a boy would be the show that would be the top of the list yo be renewed for season three.

One of my top 3 shows ever alongside with breaking bad and prsion break.

What shows are there out for me to watch now... Just stupid comedies..

(P.S. that redhead bartender is a idiot, she saying all that stuff about Will's relationship with them. Glad they broke up)

Yinkster, please don't take my comments as a criticism. They are not intended that way.

I watched most of the first season--well, half season this show was on, thinking it had promise. I quit viewing because it rarely made me laugh. It seemed like there was too much focus on the love life of the two adult stars, as well as Marcus' interest in girls.

I just looked at the plot summaries of the final 8 or so episodes of this series. "Love life" is the quickest way to describe what I read. Every episode is mostly about the ongoing romantic interests of the three stars. I said to myself "It became a soap opera. No wonder the ratings went down."

Then I came upon your comments, Yinkster. Just like soap opera fans, you are wrapped up in the on-going lives of these fictional people, wondering "what happens next." That has always been the big lure of the soaps, people feel like they know these characters and truly care about how their lives develop.

I think this demonstrates what the appeal of this show was to the people who liked it. Since it was rarely funny, perhaps they should have made it a one-hour ongoing drama (read Prime Time Soap).

Me too.

Well, I did love soap operas once upon a time and I do ship Will/Fiona now. They have good chemistry, and they would make sense together here, as opposed to in the movie where they clearly weren't attracted to each other at all, despite Marcus's best efforts.

I don't know about that, but the show definitely would have benefited from the movie's darker humour.

Just because it didn't make you people laugh, doesn't mean everyone felt that way.

And to your response about series drawing you in like a soap opera, that's been television ever since the 90's.. There's no scripted comedy or drama show that does a episodic tv that you can just watch every now and then, it's made for people to continually watch. 24, Alias, Homeland. etc. all have big story arcs for their regular viewers.

About a boy is in the drama, comedy, and romance genres for a reason, so to expect every episode to be funny is expecting to laugh through any primetime drama. Sure NCIS has some funny scenes occasionally but not every episode.

Almost every show that has a major split in the season has some ratings drop, mostly because sometimes people forget when it comes back on. I didn't even know it existed til netflix due to that fact. I don't watch The Voice which was the series it was bookended for. I don't watch reality tv shows period, it's all faked anyway.

I am well aware that other people found it funny. Just not enough people.

I'm pretty sure About A Boy was primarily a comedy. It was certainly marketed as such.

Well, bully for you.

I thought it was a funny show.
I don't laugh out loud at a lot of shows but I did during this one. To each their own. I don't understand how shows like two broke girls are still on but any different shows end up getting cancelled. The imdb reviews for this show are actually quite good. I think a lot of ppl just didn't know it existed.

I just discovered About a Boy, and truly loved it, as well! It was one of the few shows I've seen in a long time that made me laugh, and made me feel good after watching it. Shows like, How I Met Your Mother, Friends, were like that, but not many fit the bill these days.
You mention Two Broke Girls - I've tried to watch that show, really give it a chance... I realize not everything's going to be my cup of tea. I can find some qualities in various series that I still may not care for, but THAT one is nothing more than an empty shell of a sitcom. It has no soul to it, whatsoever - the writing is poor, the acting is poor (while I don't dislike the actresses, their timing on this show is so off) - sometimes it looks like an SNL skit, only without the wit. It's beyond me how that show has lasted this long on network television!
And, it's truly sad a piece of work so masterfully written, acted, and kept fresh is allowed to escape a network that has the ability to reach so many viewers that could enjoy and appreciate it. This was something GOOD that a family could watch and enjoy together - unfortunately, there's very little of that out there on television these days.

I don't think that Will and Fiona should be a couple, ever. They have a great dynamic as just friends, which is refreshing compared to every other tv show where the characters fall in love. It shows that two characters of the opposite sex can be just friends without any sort of sexual tension. She's obviously way too old for him anyways.

I just watched the last few episodes and I cringed when they kissed. They're great as just friends. Too bad the show is done though.

I was so pissed off they just dropped the show mid season and never even bothered to show the last half. I really liked this show. It did not deserve to be the burn from the network they did to it.
