So you are waiting outside the main entrance with 1200 people. And the important task of taking out the turbines is done with only 2 people? There are dozens of entrances which they could have blown up quite easily, like the one Bellamy opened to let Clarke and Octavia in.
Those 1200 men don't see the enemy shooters getting out and open fire just at the moment the door is going to be opened.
Meanwhile the old president is locked up in a prison with no toilet, same as all the grounder sit in cages with apparently no need to pee or *beep*
Bellamy wonders around the building for days, even bringing the old president dinner and being in a arresting squad. nobody notices he was an outsider? come on...

These are just a few examples. I don't need the show to be fully logical en believable but it's getting a bit too ridiculous.

Im laughing because I don't get whats with people on the board and toilets. Eating, bathing or brushing teeth. It gets funnier every time.

Dont take this series too seriously!

That bit you mention is a rip off/homage to lord of the rings. Frodo and Sam go into mount doom. Bellamy and Lincoln go into Mount Weather while the army distracts Sauron/President at the front gate.

There are many other film references in The 100.

Spinning space station -- 2001
AI sets of Nukes -- Terminator
Virtual reality world/city of light - Tron

Countless references to Lost and Hunger Games

No doubt there are plenty of other programmes referenced that i havent even watched, this topic deserves a Thread of its own.

It's a CW show, not HBO, if you take it too seriously, you'll end up disappointed. There're plenty of inconsistencies if you look into it. Watch it if you like the plot and the actors but don't expect Game of Thrones's accuracy!
