Wendy

I'm not sure if I've caught up on all of the episodes, but I don't recall a single one centered around Beth Hall's Wendy character. Is Wendy relegated to being a supporting character who's personal history is largely a blank or have I missed an key episode?

I dont think they have shown too much about her. They are extremely mean to her. I feel bad for her.

reply

Perhaps they're saving her stories for future episodes.

I hope they do do an episode around her. I would love more of her backstory. There is something so unassuming and non threatening about her. I would like to see how she was in her wild party days.

She is like a straight man character, usually suffering in silence because of the idiocy of the main group. Probably works better that we don't see much of her background. Would be kind of funny though if she has a really happy life outside the group and just hangs with them out of pity or a love for their drama.

Just saw the most recent Christmas episodes and it appears that an interesting angle has finally emerged regarding Wendy's personal background. No spoilers here, though.

She is largely unexplored. I think she is just there to be the jerry of the group. She didn't even have an introduction episode where she properly joined the gang she just showed up one day.

The photo of her handcuffed in front of the judge while still wearing scrubs is very telling. She would be more a candidate for and Impaired Professionals program. She'd have to be to keep her license. She even made the comment that she became a nurse so she could have access to drugs.

You see her when Marjorie's husband is in the hospital - and Christie when she has pneumonia - she is 100% on top of things. Her's is the only life without some exploration. Would be nice to see an episode where she is framed for stealing drugs by a pharmacist and have her come through that. My ex husband (pharmacist) did that to an ER nurse -- it would be very compelling.

This is the first time time I've heard of an Impaired Professionals program. Interesting. Hope they do give Wendy more story time. I also enjoy Matt Jones' Baxter character and would like to catch up with Christy's ex boyfriend Gabriel.
