Perfect Series Finale

The show can end with Christy graduating from Law School thoughts?

reply

I'd like that a lot. I think it beats the hell out of seeing Christy meeting Prince Charming and marrying him. I think it's a good way to wrap things up and show that the character has changed in a positive way.

I think Christy gradating law school would be the perfect arc for her character when the series does come to an end.

Yes. Getting married to a great guy is and having children is the worst thing a woman can do. Getting out in the workforce is the only way she can truly be happy and fulfilled.

Would the average man be happy being a househusband?

"I will not be strong armed by threats against my laundry"

reply

Not to be negative, but with the ratings, they are lucky to get past this season

That and needing 7 years for her to get her bachelors and JD degrees. And we currently have about 3x as many lawyers as we need. More appropriate would be for her to become a counselor.

There could be a time jump, though.

The previous 20 year time jump did not work out well though.

Just watched the S02 episode where Regina got released from prison. Bonnie and Jesus in the kitchen was classic. I was really waiting for Violet to walk in and say to Jesus, "are you coming to bed or not?"

This show does such a good job of having long sequences of jokes that keep ramping it up.

LMFAO - Violet is a real idiot. I can't stand anything about her.

I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked.

I'd like to see the series finale end the morning after a total relapse and they're all dead from alcohol poisoning and drug overdoses. it would show the reality of what happens when people overindulge, and the dangers of a relapse.

Given how Bonnie is still basically Bonnie, I would have liked to see the final episode be Christy finally going to alanon, but we know that she has already been, and with Bonnie there of all people. Bonnie is one of those people I see who is pretty much in revolving door mode given that very few of her character defects have been addressed or altered. As Marjorie would say, Bonnie carries the mess, not the message. So a series finale with Bonnie not, say, getting what she deserves, but rather suffering the consequences of not doing the work, would be fitting. I thought she got off her last DUI pretty easily, so maybe this time it will be attached to vehicular manslaughter, or perhaps an accident where Roscoe is seriously injured. We got to see a little bit of tough love from Christy when she let Bonnie spend the night in jail. Perhaps the next time it will need to have a more firm boundary attached to it after Bonnie tries to joke it off.

I knew a local guy like Bonnie who never took the program seriously and was in and out for years until he had an accident in which an item in his truck came through the back window and put him in a wheelchair for life. I always tell sponsees that they can learn from the mistakes of others, or they can go back out and learn from their own. I think the most dangerous thoughts and words are those along the lines of "if it gets bad enough, I'll just come back in." That statement in and of itself predicts a relapse because the individual uttering it either does not understand the concept of powerlessness or hasn't yet surrendered.
