Jumper: The TV Series

I know this is a remake of a British series but is it just me or the basic premise is pretty much a carbon copy of the movie Jumper? Both are about place-shifting people who keep themselves secret to the world around them but also in both the show and the movie there is a secret organization that aims to eliminate these 'special' people.

It's mix of Jumper and Push. But is that a bad thing? I have been watching the first season On Netflix, and I can't wait to have the time to watch more. Get past young kids and the bad cgi, and you have a good show. The first season is playing out very well, and I hope that Netflix will put out the second season (if there is one) sooner than later.

It was cancelled..

Did you ever stop to think that Jumper was a carbon copy of the original Tomorrow People? Or, that that premise has been used for pretty every Sci-Fi series for the past 50 years?(Okay, not all, but a good portion)

Jumper is based on a book by Steven Gould.

The book was a hell of a lot better than the movie, though. It's a bad thing for a superhero movie when you find yourself rooting for the antagonist, since he's right.

reply

Except they never leave new york.

I think you'll find it goes The Star My Destination by Alfred Bester lead to the original version of The Tomorrow People which lead to the book Jumper and sequals which lead to this version of The Tomorrow People.

Maybe that was the problem this series was obviously based on Jumper, not the Tomorrow people. My friend even said they slipped up and called the teleporting jumping.
