What a great little film

This is actually a very good movie, however the English title, Just a Sigh, is not a good one. The French title (Le temps de l'aventure) is better because this is an adventure. Everything works here. Devos is spectacular. Just the scene alone - where her actress character meets for an audition is a tour de force. She performs an audition twice in just one take and it is different each time. One of the most memorable "little" scenes I have seen in a long time. I am reminded of that incredible scene in The Single Man of Colin Firth's when he was on the phone.

Small spoilers...This story was literally written for Devos. The pairing of her and Byrne was a good one. This story happens in one day (June 21, 2013) and it really confirms, "What a Difference a Day Makes." She says, "I didn't follow you, I went and found you." There is a bit of humor and embarrassment in that pursuit because it does take place at a funeral Byrne is attending. They first meet on the early morning train however. And, it is just that - she finds her true love out of nowhere in this point and time in her life, in that day, in that hour - and yes, at a funeral. In an interview with Devos, she does call this a true love. She is compelled to know him. And Byrne's character, although wary and suspicious, is captivated - a willing captive who in the end might have felt a loss - two times in one day - and a ray of hope. Very intelligent scenes. Locations in the 17th arrondissement of Paris and also at the Gare du Nord. There is a music festival that day. Everything is fleeting. Both almost miss each other but they do connect. It's very difficult to do a movie like this because you have to convince the audience that this chance meeting and ardent lovemaking is really a true love moment that may only happen once in a lifetime if at all or as they say - in their other life together, although this life is long.
