Not one of the nice ones

The widow of the basketball player said she grew up in a trailer park and said not one of the nice. I did not know there was such a thing as a nice trailer park. How many levels of crappy do you have to go down to look at other trailer parks as nice.

Lucky you, obviously a long way from your life if you have to ask.

I live in the Phoenix and there are lots of nice trailer communities here. They work well for many retirees on limited incomes and most seem like good places to live.

Of course there are some smaller more "trashy" ones as well but they are few in number.

Yeah, hey OP, get out more.

With great power comes great responsibility.

There's a show called Welcome to Myrtle Manor on TLC. It's about a trailer park. I've never seen it, so I don't know if it's a good one or not.

Just because "trailer park" has become synonymous with "trashy," largely thanks to media depictions, doesn't mean there aren't plenty of nice ones...really, really niiiice ones.

Truth be told, a LOT depends on the management/owner(s) of the park.

A former co-worker moved into the nicest trailer park near his new job location, and discovered the *management* was in the process of upgrading... However, there was no question or rule about the upgrading when he moved into that trailer park from almost 35 miles away.
That news came in the form of a lawsuit to move out, or get a bigger trailer! His trailer was 18-inches smaller than a new requirement, and the legal papers were the first notice he got, just weeks after moving into the park.

After a lot of stress (single, just 6-months out of college, student loan debt, so NO way to get a house, or even a bigger trailer, etc.), the issue of his eviction eventually became moot.

How?
Management messed up when they sued the occupant of the smallest trailer in the park first (24-inches too small, but a 5-year resident in a well kept trailer). The particulars had management win the eviction lawsuit, but they had only named the man, not his ex-wife half-owner of the trailer. Since she was not named in the original lawsuit, they could not force her half of the trailer to be moved, AND since they had sued for the particular address and unit already, the judge(s) threw out a second lawsuit/eviction on the same address and property, (presumably only naming her).

Then, because the smallest trailer was not going to be removed, the other *too-small* trailers could NOT be evicted!
(BTW, the former co-worker got his papers, along with two other units, the day management *won* the first lawsuit, but before *management* found out they couldn't carry out the eviction.)

Furthermore, *management* didn't have any legal grounds then to even prevent any trailers of the same sizes from moving in... (i.e. completely voided the *new* rule about trailer size.)
Talk about shooting themselves in the foot!

Yeesh! What morons. D:
Indeed, I'm sure it's primarily a combination of the management and the residents that accounts for how "nice" the park is.
