Cancelled

I read on http://tvline.com/2013/10/31/renewed-tv-shows-2014-renewal-scorecard-cancelled-series/ that the show is a long shot on its renewal... Hope that's a case of misinformation....!!!!!

I see no REASON for the CAPS and the NAMECALLING, but the show was indeed a pile of poo.

"HAH"?
If you are, in fact, Tom Cruise, why are you slumming on the IMDB boards?

Soooo...they're not airing the last two episodes, for some dumb reason. TWO. Uggh, come on, just air as much of it as you made, for corn's sake. Now we'll have to see them through Netflix or Amazon or Hulu, or whichever service gets the whole show first. Maybe it'll be the ABC site itself.

Or never see them at all like the missing Playboy Club episodes.

Gotta love it! Talk about failing TERRIBLY!

reply

I'm sure they'll add the other 2 eps; wouldn't make any sense to only offer the first six...and Netflix is showing the whole first (and now only) season as a DVD set that isn't available yet. I didn't think KW was amazing, at least not yet, but I thought it was good enough not to become yet another attempt axed so quickly. Ah, well.

reply

People were sure Playboy Club's extra episodes would come out. They didn't. Sure, this might be different. But nothing is for sure.

HAH!

reply

True, although it appears very likely in this case, so I guess I'll just check every so often to see if/when/where they're up. Don't know anything about that other show, but I do find it very strange to go to the trouble of producing an episode and then never release it! :\

"If you don't have anything nice to say...come sit by me!"

reply

Who sez they COMPLETED the MIA episodes? Some people see an early article about a number of episodes and just assume that means they all will be finished no matter what. Not true. Dads anybody? Perhaps Playboy Club's final ep's were filmed, but never edited together, or something along that line. Sometimes a show is axed during production and what you got is what you got.

reply

Yeah, it's entirely possible for remaining episodes not to actually be completed...in this case, the final two have titles and were supposed to be aired this coming Tuesday and the next. Since it was canned, they decided not to do that, but to move some other attempted series up and put that in its place on Tuesday. Therefore I'm going with the assumption that they're done and will be available for online viewing/rental with the rest of it. If not I'll be disappointed, but we shall see.

"If you don't have anything nice to say...come sit by me!"

reply

I would imagine they were done and in the can already. Whether they will ever be shown...

reply

Hey, it could happen. But it won't change the fact that Crapper Women FLOPPED. HEH! 6 or 8, it's an EMBARRASSMENT!

HAH!

reply

Eh, it happens. A lot now, it seems. They start to attempt something, realize it's not going as well as they'd hoped, and therefore quickly stop wasting resources on it to move on to the next try for something more lasting and successful. This did get canned especially quickly, but I guess they just didn't foresee it getting better reception down the line,
I did like it and was grateful for something a liiiittle different from the usual; most new shows bore the heck outta me. But it ain't the end of the world. I'd just like to at least see the last two, that's all.

"If you don't have anything nice to say...come sit by me!"

reply

Yeah, it wasn't great but it wasn't that much worse than a lot of crap already on TV.

reply

Exactly how I feel.

reply

They did broadcast the last two episodes, on 3/30 and 3/31, according to ABC On Demand listings. BUT the episode broadcast sixth, on 2/18, was actually the seventh episode (!) according to plot line continuity. Anyone watching the episodes in original broadcast order must have been wondering what was going on. I'm glad I'm just tuning in now via On Demand and can enjoy them in proper sequence.

Having an awful time trying to correct the page for this. All in good time, I hope ...

reply

Yeesh! Well, it's good that they did make all eight completed episodes available, even though they really should have just let it finish out at least one whole season. Honestly. -_- I watched the last ones on Hulu Plus. Thank goodness for the Roku, telling you which services have any given movie/show, and how much they cost to steam/rent.

reply

Why the hate? It seems like you have a personal issue with the show. Failed screenwriter yourself?

reply

No, he's just on of those losers who likes to pretend he is somehow above liking all this "plebian fare."

reply

What hate?! I loved Crapper Women! Hilarious! Fantastic sitcom! So unintentionally funny, I never missed a second!

HAH!

reply

YOUR the embarrassment.

reply

That's quite them comeback. Awwwww, are you angry that your terrible "show" got the axe so damn fast it gave the actors whiplash?

I expect your next reply will be as "intelligent" as the first, so I'll just make the preemptive move to put you on Ignore now.

HAH!

reply

The original trailer for the show billed it as 8 weeks - 8 women.

reply

Oh really? That's damn funny! If so, so much for THAT!

I liked Killer Women! Was it perfect, no; but it sure started with a heck of a lot more potential then a lot of other scripted shows eventually build to. If it is in fact cancelled, I’m really bummed.

I liked that Killer Women had a female lead, and the idea that every episode highlighted a female killer made it even a more intriguing concept. I enjoyed the chemistry between Ranger Molly and FBI Agent Dan, the brother-sister relationship, and the swirling energy of the kids that occasionally got thrown in was fun. Adding to my delight of the show, is that most of every episode was shot on location, rather then some stiff interior, or back lot that “looks” like the south. I think this show has room to grow, and the actors to pull it off. It just needs time to build ratings.

If the major networks want a strong, committed audience, it takes time to build that. It takes time for an audience to fall in love with a show, spread the word, and ratings to grow. It’s the rare show to have huge ratings numbers out of the gate. If a show is lucky to have strong numbers, great; but don’t kill a show after a tiny number of airings because you don’t have a “committed audience”. Look at how ABC handled Mind Games, with Christian Slater and Steve Zahn. Ten episodes were shot, and ABC cancelled the show after airing only two episodes. Two episodes! Who the heck becomes a die-hard fan after two episodes?

Why the heck should an audience commit to a show if a network has a reputation of killing scripted shows after one, two, or three airings? Why should I spend my time getting involved in the characters, fall in love with a show, and watch the show when it airs (rather then On Demand), if all that will eventually happen is that the show gets cancelled?

Insulting the audience all the more is the way networks choose to cancel shows. Rarely – if ever – is a reality show cancelled. Why?

Look at Donald Trump’s The Apprentice; it had awful ratings in its last season, but NBC committed to air all of the shows that were already shot. Why? Sure you don’t have to pay as much for a reality show – even a reality show with third-tier “celebrities”. However, if a scripted and reality show has been shot, why not air all of the episodes that you’ve already paid to shoot?

I’m just airing my frustration that it’s a rare that a reality show gets cancelled before all of the shot episodes air, but it’s sadly become the norm to hear that a scripted show gets cancelled before all of the shot episodes air. Grrr…sorry for venting…

Darn ABC for killing a show that has a strong female lead, and a huge potential to grow!! What the heck?

ABC kills a scripted show that had some interesting characters, and instead of trying to help the show grow, ABC pulls it! On top of that, ABC wants us to watch pathetic shows like The Bachelor.

Who gets the gig of having the privilege to make these decisions, and then screw up so badly? With some of the shows that networks choose to air, or keep on their schedules, I often wonder what's their definition of success. I know, I know...ratings, ratings, ratings...but, come on!!

Grrr...I'm so frustrated, because I really liked the journey this show was taking us on. In my fantasy world of network programming, I wish another network like USA or Lifetime would pickup Killer Women.
