Why?

Why do so many people hate shows starring strong women?

reply

This particular show was badly written, poorly acted and just plain bad.

I'm a woman, I love strong female characters and smart writing. This show had neither. That's why it tanked. Nothing else.

Do you seriously not find ridiculous and repulsive that they had to extend "feminism" (real feminism is about gender equality, not.. uberwomanism along with completely idiot and weak men) even to murderers? I can accept the female lead, no problem with that, but how on earth was that female-only killer idea was sold to the network? Was the selling dialogue between Hannah Shakespeare and the ABC execs something like that?

Hannah : "You know, I have this idea about a new cop show with a strong female lead"
ABC execs : "Been there, done that, we are not interested. Neeeeeeext"
Hannah : "Hey wait a minute, not just a female lead; all the killers will be women too!"
ABC execs : "Wow, all of them? Cool, the militant feminists will wet their beds over this and a new war will break out in Youtube and Reddit between the hardcore feminists and the anti-feminists. We would love that, because it would mean strong ratings. We are sold".
Hannah : "Oh thank you Valerie Solanas, thank you!"

Fanboy : a person who does not think while watching.

I'm not asking about Killer Women. I'm asking about shows in general. Unless a show has a heavy focus on romantic relationships, people don't seem to like or appreciate in lead roles. My question is why?
