We couldn't put the real house on fire, since it's very expensive and we didn't have the money for it.
The lighting was the same, it's just the different angle, so it appears the same.

There are a lot to sacrifice when you do an extremely low budget production. I can tell you my rough budget:
I paid for insurance about 3k, I paid for the house about 10k (I couldn't get anything cheaper), about the same amount for equipment rental, about 1-2k for sag insurance and pension... and so on and so forth. So really creating a real fire was out of question. As much as I wanted to do it, I couldn't afford it.

The reviews you've read are not fake. They are 100% real and I'm pleasantly surprise people wrote them.
I understand there's a lot to be improved and If I can shoot it again I would take care of some of the mistakes and continuity errors.
